Mirrors: |
Photoshop: |
My idea for this approach is
to come how incorporate mirrors in front of a persons face so it reflects into a different background. |
I could experiment with Photoshop as a different approach by adding an object or errasing the persons face and editing something in.

Accessories: |
Printing: |
I could also use accessories to hide
ones identity. E.g by a hat or a mask |
Another idea is by printing off photos of faces and using it to cover over the persons face.
|
My Favorite image:In this photo Douglas has burned wholes in their eyes and mouths which can make is extremely difficult to identity as is essential features to a persons face. If I had to guess which celebrity this is off I would guess The Beatles although I'm not 100 percent certain as the photographer has done a good job at disguising their identity.
What I like about the photo is the fact the burn marks have left obvious marking into the photo. |

What I liked about this shoot, was the
sinister vibe that comes off from the editing technique which relates to the same vibe that comes from Douglas' work, |
What I would like to do in my next shoot is find a better location to take photos to create more interest as the background I used in the first shoot are quite boring.
|
WWW:What I enjoyed with this photo shoot was the different range in styles of disguise I used to create the images. What I found worked well was the second image I created using sharp lines to outline everything.I liked the way it helped the image stand out.
|
EBI:What I struggled with was finding props and being able to take photos with an interesting background. Next time I would like to think of better uses of Photoshop.

“People think I make these in one attempt, but it’s not true. I always apply
the final decision on the original, but even though I try to make it as simple
as possible, it takes 20 times to get it right,”

'L.H.O.O.Q' is one of Duchamp's readymades. In 1919 he decided to try something unimaginable and deface one of the worlds most iconic piece of art, the Mona Lisa. He decided to do this by using a photographic postcard version of it.
Duchamp drew a moustache and a goatee beard on the Mona Lisa's face and write 'L.H.O.O.Q' underneath. When pronounced In French it sounds very scandalous, as translated in English it says "She's got a hot ass". Duchamp may have been referring to her famous smile. This may have been seen scandalous at the same as gender fluidity wasn't as explored around the era it was in. This is a short video explaining why the Mona Lisa is so famous and why Duchamp may have chosen it as his target.
|
WWW:What I liked the most of the outcome of my first readymade, is the first experiment I did with the male and female by switching their heads.
|
EBI:What I think I struggle with the most during this, is cutting precisely as I create uneven lines which cause the collage to not be able to be put together correctly.

"‘Seeing Ourselves’ explores identity, western beauty standards, representation and Afro hair. "
- Sharon Walters
For his 2010 series, named HORIZON/S he pulled images from Horizon magazine (a hardback arts journal) wanting to teach the American public on " high art and culture". He alters the context and scale of these images showing his own input and understanding to these images.

Matt Lipps is an American photographer and artist. He cuts out pictures from books and magazines and arranges them in different ways, e.g. free standing, into three dimensional tableaux. He re-photographs them again to print the image in a large scale .
Matt Lipps Part 1 from KADIST on Vimeo. "I grew up surrounded by printed images in magazines. The materiality of the paper gave form and tactility such that I could manipulate those pictures by cutting and pasting them together in a way that remixed and retold stories that reflected my inner world." - Matt Lipps |
WWW:What I liked about the turn out of my photos, is the composition within the cut outs as it adds more layering and interest to it.
EBI:What I would like to do different next time is to cut out more plain images and turn them into something their not. I would also cut more precisely making sure strands of paper aren't seen.

Daniel GordonDaniel Gordon is an American artist who uses bold and bright colours in his work. His work best known for producing large colour photographs that work between collage and set-up photography.
|
|
In this photo Gordon uses vibrant and eye catching colours to make the image become brought to life. I believe this was made from magazines possibly to do with a catalog of living room objects, which were stuck onto cardboard for them to be able to stand, or perhaps they are 2d and stuck on. The artist used a lot of steady cutting for them to become lifelike. The three words I would use to describe this piece of work is; abstract, eye-catching and checkered. If I was able to ask the photographer three questions I could ask; How did you plan this envision? How long did this take? What magazines did you use? |
WWW:I liked the outcome of the spare change photo as the
focus and composition of the picture came out nicely. I also liked the second photo of the book & wall as I liked the incorporation of those two. |
EBIThe outcome of some of my pictures were a bit plain and rushed, so next time I would definitely think of better ways presenting the objects.
|
WWW:What I find went well with this shoot was that there was many varieties to take photos of, giving endless ideologies to what you're able to take a photo of.
|
EBI:What I would do differently next time is screenshot the places on a bigger screen allowing more objects into the photo. I would also make sure the photos are of better quality rather than the quality of some of these as they somewhat blurry.
